I have only cold air blowing so I think the coolant is not circulating through the heater core. The engine comes up to temperature.
I looked in the engine compartment and followed the coolant hoses and it goes to what I call a manifold located below the large solonoid at the front of the box. I am assuming that there is valve that opens and closes by putting 12 volts to the solonoid valve to let the coolant circulate to the front. Who makes the part and is there a manufacturer site that explains how it operates? I am thinking of jumping 12 volts to see if the valve will open if it is not seized. In a pinch I guess I could join the hoses with a ball valve?
Also thanks to the people that helped me with interior light/ battery problem just before Xmas . I have decided to get a little more use out of my marginal batteries before I replace them. Thank you. Steve Jordan. Chatsworth, Ontario Canada

I have flushed the core and still do not have much heat. The temperature gauge reads 160. What temperature do other coaches operate at?
Thanks Steve Jordan

I don't think I have your answer, but in a car there is a thermostat that will not let coolant circulate until it reaches a preset temperature. It is a mechanical device, not an electrical device.

Steve, I believe what you are saying is correct and that model had an electric solenoid valve that turned the water on to the heater. The question that I have is what or where is the switch to turn that solenoid on or off. There maybe nothing wrong with the solenoid and it may need to be just turned on. Yes, jumping 12 volts to it would tell you is it works or not and so would using a 12 v test lamp or voltmeter to tell you if there is voltage to the solenoid. You might want to call Monaco Tech and ask them. They probably have a diagram of it that shows you what turns it on and off.

Thanks for the ideas,I will contact Monaco Tech. I also contacted the last owner hoping he might have an idea regarding a switch or shut off.
It was interesting the problem with the Racor fuel filter as I too had problems with mine. I had a small crack in the sight glass that would allow air to enter that would cause a loss of power. It was hard to track down.thanks Steve Jordan
