Dash Vents not Blowing

We have a 2005 Monaco Dynasty IV and when using the AC very little air blows out of the dash vents as it should. It blows out of the defroster and floor. Any suggestions on where to start to fix this problem?? Thank you in advance for all responses.

Sounds like a blend door issue. Usually the actuator is under the dash but it may be electric (most likely) or vacuum operated. I don't know where it is on your coach but they can be somewhat difficult to find on cars and trucks. I might search the Internet for this issue. Good luck.

If you have no vacuum to the dash selector switch (the floor, vent, defrost, etc., switch) the default is for the air to come out the defrost ducts.

No vacuum can be the result of a vacuum hose falling off the back of switch or blend door, a cut/broken vacuum line, or no vacuum at all (bad vacuum pump).

Step one would be to test for vacuum. Try to check at the vacuum pump or vacuum reservoir mounted on the outside of front firewall. Or if it is easier to get to, check for the vacuum at the back of the dash selector switch (the hose coming from vacuum reservoir to switch (supply vacuum).

Here is your control schematic. It does not show the vacuum side of the system, but it does show the control side of the system.

Mike is giving you good advice.

What is odd about the drawing you provided (says for 2004-05 Monaco, Beaver, etc.) is that the Vacuum Pump shown has an air hose feeding it.

That is the old style (used 120 psi system air to create venturi effect for making vacuum). The current Vacuum Pumps just use 12V (motor) to create vacuum.

Here's a shot of mine (12V pump) looking up from generator compartment:

and the old style with air line:

I'M HAVING SAME ISSUE WITH MY 2007 Monaco Dyn Palace III - I was told by RV mechs that it was the dash controller/knobs ...I have an appt tomorrow with chassis techs to see what the issue is - may cancel if it gets resolved here lol....the A/C unit runs so cold that it had begun to rot out part of the board that is below the dash in the generator compartment so I would be careful running it. How is the vacuum tested?

That Vacuum Pump looks very similar to the one I replaced on my F-250, and it is much cheaper...Click image for larger version

Just a standard automotive vacuum gauge plugged into the port at the vacuum pump (or one of the vacuum hoses at the dash selector switch).

wondering how you resolved your dash vent issue

I now have the same thing as you. This thread is very helpful, so tomorrow I will check out mine. What did you do for your coach?
