No, it is a new, never titled or used as a demo. It was a unit repo from the dealer. The build sheet was sent to me via Monaco. I assume that Monaco does not want all of the dealer stock units back for the dealers that are going under. This is probably at Monaco's cost plus the fee to the broker/liquidator.

From what I understand these coaches were never sold and were not demo's . These were gotten from the out of business dealer or chapt.7 or 11 dealer by Monaco on a buyback contract then repo-ed from Monaco by the bank. In this case I believe it was GE.. Who hired a company to depose of them. A little complicated. Maybe Jim can clarify this a little more. Joe

Since all of you are looking to buy new I thought I would put something out there. I have a friend looking for a used Monaco/maybe SAfari to purchase from a private seller. We pay no tax on MH when we buy from private so it makes it a better deal. Anyway, she is looking for at least 3 slides and with her price range probably 2002-2005 and diplomat would be ideal.
Since everyone is having this conversation I thought this might be a good place to post this. Plus I know if you are on this forum you have taken good care of your MH
Please private message me and I hope I haven't broken any rules with this post.

With all the terrific buys out there on new units, how are most of you going to get rid of your current unit if you do have one since most of the best deals are through repos or dealer closings? Will you buy the new one then try to dispose of your current one, meaning you may have 2 coaches on hand at the same time? This would be scary for me. I have a 2004 coach and am approaching time for an upgrade.

We are going down to lazy days next week to see about upgrading
from our 07 knight dft to a 09 camelot dsq...wife wants king bed and
to keep rear bath, I want the 425 hp and tag axle. We live in it 7 months out of the year.

Are we nuts?

Personally, I wouldn't buy a brand new coach at anything more than half MSRP until the details of handling warranty issues are clear again. That's not to say that, if I had the money, I wouldn't upgrade to a clean late model Dynasty or similar coach, where someone else has worked the bugs out. But I would NOT want to go through a year like the first year in my coach without warranty coverage. The aggravation would be just too nerve-wracking. It was nerve-wracking enough WITH a warranty.

Sounds like a very good deal. Just pay cash and don't go with an extended warrantee. They are in the business to make money. Put the money you would pay them in a money market account each year and you will have more than enough cash to fix any problems.

Hi Jim,
Navistar may buy Monaco. The devil is in the details and the deal can still fall through...
....COBURG, Ore., March 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Monaco Coach Corporation (Pink Sheets: MCOAQ) is pleased to announce that the Company has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Navistar, Inc. with respect to a proposed transaction in which Navistar would acquire certain assets and assume certain liabilities primarily associated with the Company's recreational vehicle manufacturing business...

Hello,

Have not made a decision but I am leaning towards no. The economy has me spooked, may be able to get them even cheaper in 6 months!

Hi Jim. Just heard from a dealer in Az. that Monaco or Navstar are selling the entire inventory of new 2009 coaches at a reduced price. Have not got the price yet but it should be under $200,000.00. I am hoping it is a lot under. He says he can't match the price on the 2008's that he has in stock.

Joe , if that turns out to be true, Our older coachs wont be worth dink. It will be good for the first time buyer as he won't have any thing to get rid of. But if you have to sell and take a big hit. The deals not so good. you may save 100,000 on the new only to lose
125,000 on the old . Plus tax & lic.

Actually, if you have a 3 to 5 year old unit and you bought it right, the resale is not that bad. The prices of good lower mileage used DPs are holding realtively well. It puts people considering a new Gasser in the same price range.
