Does anyone have experience in removing the Diamond Shield from the front of the motorhome?

Yup. Do a search on "shield removal" (in the Search box at the top of this screen).

Or you can take advice that someone passed to me: You need 2 credit cards. Use one card as a scraper. Use the other to pay the guy to use credit card #1.

Bently

I removed the diamond shield from my 2000 monaco dynasty without damaging the paint. I used plastic scrapers to lift the diamond coat from the paint. You just work the sharp edge between the diamond coat and paint to lift it off. The plastic scraper did not scratch my paint. I tried plastic razor blades but they did not work as well as the plastic scraper, they are around $1 at hardware stores. The process is slow but works well. Do not pull on the diamond coat as you remove so you do not pull on the paint and potentially lift it. After the diamond coat is removed an adheasive residue is left that can be removed with a adheasive remover, after that wax and you done. My diamond coat had yellowed and was cracked, the paint under it looked new after I removed it. I did this in the summer a little at time so be patient.

Haven't had to do this and hope I never do. Sure seems like a lot of people having problems with it.

I'm not sure how different Diamond Shield is from 3M, but I had a professional remove the 3M from our 2006 Phaeton. They did a great job and it took no time at all to complete. I took some video and still photos as they worked and posted them to YouTube.

View the link below to watch them at work. It was a hot day and they faced the coach into the sun to warm the film before pulling off. They also used a solvent afterward to remove any adhesive from the paint surface. I am not sure what solvent they used though.
