If you pull up dealers from the Monaco web sight it only shows 2 dealers here in CA. I was suprised that DiMartini was not listed and after reading another thread regarding DiMartini not being listed I wanted to find out what was going on. DiMartini was Monaco's #1 dealer for customer satisfaction severl times. Here is Tim DiMartinis reply:

Hi Del,

IT is good to hear from you. I am sorry we have not yet signed up with the new company Monaco RV LLC yet. The old company Monaco Coach Corp. is still in Chapter 7 bankruptcy but has cancelled all of its dealers including us as part of the bankruptcy proceedings.
We are in a wait and see position right now. Our intentions are to sign with the new company as soon as we can verify that they are producing a viable reliable product for our customers. At this time I do not know that and don’t think that they have full production lines going for building high line coaches. They claim they will build one on a special order basis but I do not believe that they could build a quality high line coach on a one at a time basis.
In my opinion it takes a normal production line with all the stations to get consistent quality coaches. We have purchased plenty of prototypes that were built like that and we didn’t think were up to quality standards. Maybe they will eventually get to that point where we could verify good quality coaches coming off the lines but I don’t think it is happening yet. As always we are very concerned with the quality of coaches that we sell. I believe that the new company are now starting to build an assembly line of lower line diesels this month and we will see how they come out when they are finished.
The new company is a LLC subsidiary of Navistar and we don’t yet fully trust them after what we went through with the old Monaco Coach Corp. leaving us high and dry.
Thanks for checking with us. We appreciate your business and will be happy to help you anytime in the future. We have a lot of Monaco special parts in stock and will gladly help you if you ever need anything for your coach.
Thanks Sincerely
Tim DeMartini

Well, if DeMartini is waiting for Monaco`s reply, there are no Tiffin dealers, or Newmars Dealers, in Northern Cal. And I think they are great units.

Seems to me if I knew of an Oil Tanker filled with Alaskan heavy Crude named the Valdez with a captain named J.J. Hazelwood. I would not invest or hope anything to be different than before.

You hit the nail on the head. Navistar, in their infinite wisdom, name Toolson as CEO of their Monaco sub. His leadership (?) is without question . Martini would be wise to cut their losses and go with Tiffin or Newmar. It is evident they know how to survive in this market and take care of their Customers. Toolson really took care of us did he not. Navistar, Toolson and their "shirts" can spin it however they like but the fact remains they could care less about prior or current owners.

It has been awhile since I bought my coach but when I was looking I thought that Monaco built a much nicer coach. I liked their floor plans better and thought that the styling was way ahead of the competition. I agree that they let all of us down when they filed bankruptcy but I still like my Monaco and would probably buy another.....when my ship comes in.

I agree Steve, my Monaco is built well and has been virtually trouble free. I had a few common minor issues when I purchased it but they were easly repaired and I have had no major issues. I would buy another Monaco as well if the quality is the same as my coach but, in my opinon Monaco LLC needs to give the dealers product for us to see, not build by order, because they have to prove themself and it is not going to happen overnight. I read yesterday that Tiffin is going to use the Navistar V8 Diesel in one of there new models, why is Monaco not advertising putting it in one of there models? To me this is jumping on the Tiffin band wagon and letting the Monaco line die. Tiffin is a great product and in my humble opinion Navastar just confirmed that by advertising with them. Where is the loyalty and commitment to Monaco LLC?

I did a tour of the Monaco Coburg factory about 2 weeks ago, and they have instituted some new quality control measures to help produce a better product. I don't think they have all their ducks in a row yet, but they are trying.

As far as they new units having a Navistar engine, they had a whole assortment of the new Navistar MaxxForce engines lined up ready to go, in fact, several of the chassis that we saw on the line had them installed. There were still a bunch of Cummins engines in stock, so the change will still take a while. If you were to custom order a coach, you can get either engine.

The wife and I spent an entire morning crawling through, under, inside and where ever else we could fit, in both a new 2011 Endeavor 43' and Neptune 40', in Bend OR last month. We were both duly impressed with the quality of both materials and construction, plus the fit and finish we saw in both units and believe me, Monaco is now building a much better unit than the old MMC built. I bought my 1st Endeavor because of quality and when the time comes, will buy another for the same reason. My only complaint was the price tag on the Endeavor...... ouch.

Bob Tiffin always seems to have his ear to the ground. Instead of putting all his cookies in the UREA tank he plans to also offer the Navistar engine which is reported to meet the EPA standards without the need for a UREA tank and the added inconvenience and cost. I love the fact that I have a pre-2006 engine and don't have the after burner and won't have to fill up a UREA tank to go with the already costly diesel tank.
