Hi,
Been a while since we have posted. Went to a dog show in Tucson and had a great time--Surf took Best of Breed all 3 days and 2nd place in the working group on Sunday. Sparkle, the 140 lb puppy who is now 10 months old won her puppy class all 3 days and had fun meeting dogs, kids and people. It was HOT though--record temperatures!
When we were getting ready to leave Jeffrey went to check the transmission fluid and the cap came out without the dipstick! How does one get the dipstick out? We can't even SEE it in there!
Assistance GREATLY appreciated!

Couple of alternatives. Our coach has a 2nd short dipstick under the coach on the driver's side of the tranny but you have to get under the coach. Also with the engine and tranny at operating temp. get the coach level and press the D&N(I think I'm right on that) button at the same time and it will give you a code which shows the level. The procedure is in your tranny manual. Probably to get the dipstick out you should check with an Allison shop. Probably will have to take the tube loose at the tranny.

Hey, sorry can't help you with the dip stick issue but had to respond to a fellow show dog person. I show Newfs and Porties but motorhome is in shop before winter storage. You see, up here in Wisconsin it gets cold and mighty white at times. Winter shows are closer to home and extended van is our way of travel. We sure do miss using the motorhome for the shows. Congrats on your BOB all three days!!!!

I just had the same thing happen to me. I tried to stick a long "claw-grabber" down to pull it out but can't get it. Taking it to a Monaco authorized shop next week to have them get it........I think they will have to take off the tube and get it out.

Karen...
WOO-HOOOO ...YIPPEE and CONGRATS
ok....Sacs said the same thing as McDDY.(although he is not sure which two buttons we would push to get the codes)
I know this is a "new to you" rig. You may want to see if it is the same procedure for you rig by checking the owner's manual..
I think I am going to see if we can get a permanent thread in the Pets area where people can post which shows they will be at... It might be fun to go root for our own iRV2ers ..or even competing with them!

Karen and all...Happy Thanksgiving.
I remember a similar thread on this subject that indicated that because of your ability to check your transmission levels from the coach shift touchpad...a dipstick was unecessary so the factory didn't attach the rod to the cap.

I thought it was odd that our 04 Imperial didn't have a dipstick attached to the handle either. That is until I called Monaco and found out there is no stick attached to it, it's for fill only. The dipstick is accessable by pulling up the floor access panel in the bedroom. I was embarrassed!!

Ed,
Thanks for the congrats! I know about the winters in the Midwest--I lived in Chicago for a number of years and Mom lives in Cleveland so I know SNOW and COLD-brrrrrr. I'll bet teh Newfs LOVE it though.....
We also have the 16 passenger van equipped with generator and separate A/C unit. I love the van! We sometimes use it for the local shows when we aren't spending the night on showgrounds.
It's off to Long Beach and the Eukanuba dog show next week. Can't wait as the show is amazing but the best part--the VENDORS. Great place to do Christmas shopping --cha ching, cha ching...........
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Hoping you all have great health, laughter and lots of joy!
