I just got a '06 Diplomat 40PDQ and would like to mount a Prodigy brake controller on it so I can tow my electric brake equipped trailer to haul my motorcycles. I contacted Monaco who told me the pre-wired plug should be under the dash behind the steering wheel or in the "shift tower" next the driver's seat. I've looked both places and can't seen to find it. Can anyone tell me if they've located theirs and what it looks like (wire colors, size, number of wires, etc)? The one on my previous coach was easy. I was hoping to not have to hard wire the whole brake controller if I could help it. I've done that before, but it's sure easier using the pre-wired connector. Thanks everyone.

Whizzo,
I installed the Unified Tow Brake system and I found my factory installed harness in the console next to the drivers seat. It is the one that the Jacks, transmission and parking brake are on. I unscrewed the top and had to dig it out it was on the bottom. Monaco started pre-wiring their motor homes in 2006 so it should be there.

my harness was inside of the steering column.i removed the plastic covers around the steering column and found it there .it had a sticker on the harness that said brake control.i cut the end of there plug off there harness and just wired my prodigy direct.works great.there were two hots on mine harness.one was from the ignition when on and another constant hot from the batteries .i used that one.

Mine was in the steering column as well. I spent hours searching under the instrument panel and in the console on the left armrest and found several "blank" plugs but could not find the brake control wires that were supposed to be there. Finally, I took off the plastic cover on the steering column and there it was.
I'll bet that's where you will find it - Good Luck
