Other than one coach having a Monaco moniker and the other being HR, are there primary differences in these coaches?

Having both the 2008 brochures, the HR brochure points out the heavy duty construction of the slide, but the Monaco brochure does not mention it at all.
I know the chassis is identical, but are the coach housings of different construction?
Are/were both coaches made in Elkhart? Same assembly line?
Just wondering.

Bud, It also looks like the 09 is 3000 lbs heavier, 12" longer wheel base, 23000 lb rear axle and the inside was given bigger sofa's. Seems that some of these changes were made before fuel went nuts. But the bigger sofa's would be nice.

The front caps and dash must be different because the Endeavor windshield is curved at the bottom but the Diplomat is more straight along the bottom. Other than that, I think it is kinda like the Ford, Mercury thing.

Bud - did the Elkhart factory tour twice last year before buying our 2008 Diplomat. Both Holiday Rambler and Monaco were built there (closing 16 Sept from what I hear) - we asked the same question about the difference and were told there were only a few facial differences. They were both coming down the assembly line side by side - the window is one difference as the HR seems to dip further down front as mentioned. The Dip has a computer slide out on the dash which we really like. The dash facing was different (imitation wood vs platinum color) and after that I couldn't find any difference. Their combination packages of options are different but I did a side by side spread sheet and the bottom line was just about identical. It's kind of funny that the HR vs Monaco clubs and rallies are still a little segregated almost like a step brother/sister relationship. FYI we have had zero problems to date. (Except dead bugs on windshield )

Monaco-Coburg actually laid off some people last week for 6-8 weeks for re-tooling the plant for the move of these & other coach lines...
...and MCPO Ret is correct...they are the same but different...
