I was under our 08 Dyansty today to lube the chassis ,driveshaft and the slacks. This is the first time I was right under our baby. Might be a good idea for everyone to do the same. This a ULSD compliant unit and they make lots of exhaust heat. The pipe from the Cummins to the muffler is wrapped with insulation. Similar to header wrap. There is a bracket from the engine to the pipe and a muffler clamp adds support to this pipe. The clamp had no nuts or washers! Appeared that the nuts were never installed. The wrap had started to unwrap. I bolted up the clamp and used a large hose clamp to secure the insulation. I also noticed that many parts of the front frame section were never painted. I will fix that as well. Not only is an inspection a good idea in case they forgot something serious it is good to be familiar with your unit.

Moisheh,
I think you are absolutely correct about the PDI. It would be well worth the $$$ to have someone actually familiar with your make and model perform the PDI. As a typical owner I am not qualified to conduct a quality PDI and I am fairly mechanically inclined.
I've also noticed that much of the underbody is not painted. The Roadmaster frame is painted but all the other metel used for the comparments, generator slide and other steel that added post Roadmaster was raw steel and rusty. The coach was undercoated and covered the bare steel but eventually the undercoating starts to flake off exposing rust. When I find a spot I chemically treat to halt the rust and am certain this will be a continuous effort from now on.

majeasy: In that case it would be a POST delivery inspection. The semantics mean nothing. The important thing is that one should do an undercarriage inspection.

Excellent points. And let's not forget the roof. I have a area on mine at the front center, where the "real" paint job ends and the white stuff begins that looks like they just went back and forth w/a spray can. There is also footprints in the sealant nearly every place they put it! What they had no where else to stand? They also didn't bother to clean the shower skylight before they put the outer cover on so it always looks dirty. I saw it from the inside at delivery but thought it was just dirt on the outside. I am not to happy about this. What do you do after you've already owned it for 5-months?

I often wonder what Monacos were like before the " White Glove " program. Although I feel that Monaco is one of the better mfrs. it is still an RV and the whole industry lacks proper quality control. Might never change unless some foreign mfr. enters the N.A. market.
