I know, doorbell? The doorbell on our 04 Imperial hasn't worked since we got the coach, just overlooked having it done under warranty. Well I got to running it down ahd discovered that the doorbell fuse is mounted in a circuit board like device we called a PWB or printed wiring board. It's in the bedroom electrical cabinet. The wiring board exibited the same defect that many others have in equipment I used to service, corrusion in the connectors and the fuse socket on the board causing an interruption in 12v power to the bell unit. Bell works fine now.
As for the keypad..........

It seems to be very temperature sensative. When it is cold you really have to press hard on the thing to get it to work, when it is warm it double beeps some times when pressed with the slightest pressure. Anyone had to have this problem addressed?

Update on the entry keypad problem. I sent an e-mail to the mfgr, Essex Electronics. They got back to me yesterday and are agreeing to replace the keypad even though it is out of warranty(3yrs from mfgr date) if it is defective. The deal is I gave them my credit card # and they are sending me a new pad. I'll install it and send the old one back and they will test it. If it turns out to be bad the new one they sent will be free. They did indicate that they've had some problems with them thus the courtesy.

We also had to add our own doorbell. It came as part of a motion-sensor and alarm system for anything within range. I feel very comfortable leaving wife at a CG at night with the system armed and ready. ANY intrusion is immediately noted and then she can act accordingly (we do carry, but for the most part the alarm system is all one needs as a deterent).

The system is very accurate (in fact, sometimes TOO accurate), but is also extremely loud and decisive. We can be way in the back and hear it, even with the AC's or engine running.

Did I mention it also needs to be walked several times a day, and eats a lot of dogfood? He's an 85lb German Shepherd Dog, very people-oriented and friendly but he doesn't look it.

Keypad update. The new pad arrived and was installed, works perfectly. Have sent the old pad back to Essex.
