There are several ways. The dealer may not actually "own" the coach. The mfgr may own it. The mfgr gets warranty information from the buyer. The dealer may have an agreement with the mfgr, part of the deal to sell that mfgrs coaches, to tell the mfgr to whom and when a coach is sold.
The mfgrs used to place coaches on dealer lots with a contract that required the dealer to sell the coach within a defined period of time or buy it from the mfgr. One poor guy I talked to a few yrs ago had two identical coaches on his lot, one of which he owned the other still owned by the mfgr. He lamented that the dealer had dropped the price on the coach it owned leaving the dealer with a coach he owned, the price for which was well above what the mfgr wanted for "their" coach. You know which coach was going to sell first!!
