My Manual says to drain the air tanks once a month, does this effect the bags. I am not question the manual I just want to make sure I do it right. I am new to the DP Life, 2002 Endeavor 330 ISC 38PBT. Thanks to all Happy Holidays. Roy

Hi Roy - welcome to the DP Life

Yes, draining the tanks all the way down does deplete the air in the air bags. It does not, however, affect your parking brake. There should be no worries there.

I just did my monthly(ish) drain a few days ago. I opened both front and rear drain valves a bit to let the air escape, then left them wide open for five or so minutes. I then closed the valves and started the engine. I let the pressure build up to 80 or so pounds of pressure and turned off the engine. I then checked both of the valves for leaks.

Once everything looked good, I bled the air back down to 50# or so, then reset the jacks. Seemed to work out just fine. I used the time the air tanks were draining to check the fuel filter, hydraulic fluid, etc.

On your rig your valves should be ..
1. Pull gennie out -there is a valve mounted just to the left (passenger side)
2. The second one is at the back passenger side about 12" to the right of the trailer hitch! (Sacs has actually shown me how to bleed these off!

)

This is probably good advice. The reason for it is to get any accumulated water from your air tanks..If you have only had this MH a short while, and do not know the maintenance records, it would be a good idea to replace the air dryer..This device actually stops the water from getting to the tanks to begin with..
If you notice any vapor or water when draining air tanks, the dryer definitely needs replacement.

BTW, how's the weather up thar? Thought the weather dude said is was a little white up your way, down here it's a brisk

Mbl... The one inch of white stuff that they have talked about for the last 3 days for Eugene...has never really materialized. We have had snow flakes..and just a dusting at that which never stuck... BUT to hear Teofff talk... they are in blizzard conditions in Portland

All kidding aside...this is a photo Teofff sent a few of us a day or two ago...

He is about 30 minutes south of Portland...

I can't find my rear one either. I think some real investigation is in order next spring.

The last time we got a dusting of the white stuff is pictured below. This was in Southern California in February and was falling as I snapped the picture.
