Drain tube in refrigerator

Hi all,

We are new to Monaco. We just purchased a 99 Monaco Dynasty. There is a tube in the double door refrigerator that is leaking some water. Not a lot, but when I take food out, it's wet. We do have an ice maker but I do not believe it is hooked up. how do I correct this? Thank you!

The tube is inside the refrigerator. I didn't notice it until I took food out of one of the bins.
The coach is at the shop being serviced. I believe it is a norcold. Not 100% sure since it isn't here

Sounds like your outside drain tube is clogged ( there a cap on it with a pin hole to prevent foreign objects ). The cap needs to be cleaned occasionally . When your unit goes into defrost mode , the water will overflow into the fridge .

On both Dometic and Norcold there is a tray under the fins in the fridge.. This is a drip tray, do not store food on it.

This dray drains down into a "Cup" like device on the back wall and the drain tube is hooked to that. It extends outside, and here is where differences happen.

On the Dometic, this tube SHOULD be extended out one of the vent holes in the outer cover so it drip, drip, drips on the ground.

On the Norcold it goes into a Cup which is heated by the waste heat from the coolant boiler and in theory evaporates the water away.

Thanks!

Thank you for the input. It was missing the cup/tray!

That was one of the easier ones... On one of the first defrost operations on mine wife put the drip tray in backwards, so the drain did not line up with the cup it drips into so the hose takes it outside.. easily fixed.

On my 2002 Holiday Rambler with the Norcold fridge I found that the drip tube was never opened so it could drip into the cup. After adding the drip tray you may also want to see if the drip tube has an opening on the outside.
