Drink Holder Hell

There are not may things that I hate on our coach, but the drink holders are causing me grief. My wife and I have spilled 3 drinks since we acquired the coach. The original ones look like they are designed to hold a coffee mug, and thats it. Forget a Starbucks Venti coffee, or a Big Gulp. They always end up on the carpet during a sharp turn. Has anyone replaced or retrofitted the shallow stock holders with a deeper version? I would just pop in a replacement, but that stupid knockout for the mug holder is preventing me from having a clean look.

Anxiously looking for a solution as well. Those holders are awful IMHO.

I cut the bottom off of mine and replaced it with a deeper cup that was about the right size. I glued it with epoxy and covered the inside with black paint. If you look down into it, you can see where things don't line up correctly. If you pull it out, it looks really ugly. I didn't tell DW that I fixed it, she hasn't noticed yet. If she does, I'm sure it will be too ugly to keep. She has used it several times, just hasn't noticed that it works now.

I replaced ours with these, much more accommodating for modern beverages.

You could do as I do. I do not allow anyone to have drinks in any of my vehicles at all. If you need a drink I will stop somewhere and you can take a break or whatever.
I don't relish the idea of someone coming at me with a vehicle with a great big cup or mug blocking their vision either, tipping their head back and not paying attention to what they are doing.
I keep a small amount of change in my cup holders for change at toll booths.

This would not be an option for us as we enjoy our refreshments while driving down the road. We start our motoring day after a Starbucks run, and I often have my DW fetch me cold drinks from the fridge to keep me happy and alert on the road.

Thanks to foretexas and oldmattb. I will give these a try.

My original coffee cup holder sits right in front of a air conditioner duct great for keeping things cool bad for coffee. I put this one in last week, have not tried it out yet. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o03_s00

Yep. Sippycup, a tall insulated cup with a screw-on cover and sliding "Sippy" lid with carabiner belt clip for hiking, keeps things hot or cold, no spills, no frills, no muss, no fuss, don't need new cup holders, easily moves to next RV without an upgrade.
