Hello again my fellow Monaco Owners, I just got back from a trip and when I was driving home I put the driver side shade down and now it wont go back up. I kept working the switch during our drive home, but nothing. I checked the fuse diagram and it showed the 9 position fuse and 5 amp, I tried the passenger side shade and it works fine. I assume both shades are on the same circuit because there is only one fuse for shades. Any suggestions would be appreciated. As you know we are pretty new to RVing, about one year, and it seems every time we take the MH out we have to repair something, is this normal. We have a 2004 Monaco Diplomat DST. Also I tried to put my main awning down and one of the knobs that you have to loosen keeps turning and wont release so that I can put the awning down, anyone have that problem before? Thanks

FWIW Now that you have checked the fuse you may want to check the easiest points first. Do you have voltage at the fuse?, Switch? Check wires on back of switch, did they fall off? Check for a bad ground. Let us know what you find.

Have had problems with the shades twice, both times it was the fuse in the fuse bank in the electrical compartment under the driver. Didn't have a problem with our manual awning, so I can't help with that one. We purchased a 2002 Ambassador in 2004 and a 2007 Scepter in 2007. Put 30K miles on the Ambassador and 33K on the Scepter so far. On both coaches every time we come home, I have a list of "things" that need attention. Some small and some large, but always something. Seems to be the nature of the beast, but it hasn't detracted from the fun yet.

JFC, thanks, we haven't let it discourage us either, we are just waiting to retire so we can go full time. I understand that this is a moving home and things will happen, we just seem to have something every time we go out, but the wonderful experiences have been well worth it, thanks again for your input.

Bonanza......Try pulling on the shade while operating the switch. I know they occasionally get stuck. Both shades are on the same fuse so it not a fuse issue. I will add that mine routinely blew the 5 amp fuse if we operated both at the same time. I changed the fuse to a 7.5 amp and no longer have the issue.
I would check the switch next for loose wires and power and then check the actual shade for power.
