Driver's seat moves into slide when moving slide

The current operation seems to be backward to me. I move my seat all the way forward to the steering wheel but the when I start moving the slide it moves all the way back into the path of the slide. So I stand on one foot with other foot on seat button to move the seat back forward out of the way while reaching to hold the slide in/out button. Is there a wire I can reverse or cut so the seat will quit moving in the way of the slide as the slide moves. Ideally it should move forward out of the way instead of backward into the path of the slide, so I'm thinking some wire is reversed. If I swivel the seat part way or all the way it will jam in to the side wall or steering wheel extremely hard and stain the motor as it tries to push the wall or wheel out of the way. If I don't do the "one foot dance" the seat wants to rip the trim off the slide. This a 2007 Beaver.

As you know that should not happen. I have powered seats and have to move the seat forward as you do. But the seat remains forward as I push the button to move the slide in or out. I am thinking there maybe a short where the wires are crossed. Doesn't sound likely but that is the only thing I can think of. I am sure someone will post more help. Good luck and sorry I can not be of more help.

Allen, if I remember right some of the high end Monaco's have a feature that automatically moves the seats fwd when the slides are activated. This is a nice safety feature to prevent damage to the seat and or slide. Sounds like you may have a bad relay or maybe if you had some work done something go wired back incorrectly. Maybe someone with that feature can chime in and help you out. (I do not have the set up on my rig)

Wink

Got the magic button sequence to reprogram the "slide movement position". While memory position 1 and 2 are "position seat", "press set", "press 1 or 2", setting the slide default position is "position seat", "press AND HOLD set", "press 1 and 2 simultaneously" , "release 1 and 2", "release set".

Evidently when I had the seat all the way back and working on my front TV wiring, my leg accidentally pressed and held the buttons in the magic sequence to reprogram it to the full back position. Such a talented leg while bending around the seat and steering wheel trying to work on the tv!!

All better now.

I would love to find that schematic. Neat feature. I had to repair some molding after not following my check list.

With my seat all the way back I still have 4-6" of clearance for the slide....my seats must not be as thick as yours because I still have to move the seat forward to drive. Maybe my slide doesn't come as far forward as your does.
