Dull gelcoat

I just bought an 05 Sig that has very minor checking which is the good news. In fact, it has about the least I've seen on a Monaco of any age. However, the paint finish and gelcoat are quite dull. I have been researching polish and wax products. Does anyone have any suggestions? I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Regex it isn't cheap but it does a good job and lasts a long time.

They also sell Xtreme Clean that they recommend to take off all of the old wax before applying Rejex.

When you say gelcoat, are you talking about the roof? I just did my roof with Nyalic. Should last me many years. I am planning on Rejex for the painted surfaces

I used Meguires Ultimate Polish and it was not only easy to apply and remove, but made a SIGNIFICANT difference. It is also non-abrasive.

The dullness is on the painted surfaces and not the roof itself. The sides of the coach are the dullest especially the burgundy paint color. There is no real sheen left.

Could it be that someone sanded down the checking and repainted it with an inferior paint? The factory paint on these is some really good stuff and does hold up to the elements pretty good. If your coach had sat outside without care, ( enough to have dulled the paint) I think you would have some pretty good checking to go along with it. If you're not handy with a buffer, find a reputable detail shop in your area and have them try buffing the dull area with some compound and then giving it a good wax, or some of the larger resort campgrounds have professionals that come to the park and will do the same. Hope this helps to get you back shining again.
