I had a simulator switch that turned the power off of the trailer brake control. I agree. You have to trace the wires.

HAVE a similar switch in mine. Turn key on look at odometer press switch(should be momentary switch) either will zero or go through several pedometers. Second if it is an on/off switch, could be A/C compressor switch.
