How in the world does Holiday Rambler expect one to dump their tanks when the connection is off center.

I have to put a 90 on my dump in order the dump the tanks and it is off center. With this set-up I have to make 2 connections. 1 to install the 90 and then 1 to install the hose. Every other pull Trailer, 5th Wheel, and Motor Home I have owned, I have always been able to leave the 90 on the hose.... Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? Also there is not much room after I dump the air bags to make the hook ups.. Is there a better way?

Lee,
My dump valve is also off center. However, are you aware that the valve assembly can rotate down to improve the angle for attaching the hose. I have my hose fitted with a 45 degree angle fitting and I can hook it directly to the valve and it exits through the off center hole.

Lee,

As Dennis points out, you can loosen the four screws at the square flange and rotate the valve. I had the same problem and went through several clear elbows before I found the combination that worked best for me. For over a year now I have not needed to connect the 3 inch hose because we installed the Sani-Con.

Hmmm Thanks I will have to take a closer look and see if I can move mine. I am sure I can. I have a Flo-Jet portable macerator pump but I am not sure I have enough room to mount it permanently. I see the Sanicon is like $500.00 and I just don't have that kind of money right now.

Thanks for your responses.... Lee

FWIW Very early on I had Monaco replace the small opening in the floor with a larger one, and, move the center of the hole to line up with the Dump Outlet. The new lid is about 6 or 7 inches across. Viking Marine is the name on the lid and when installed it is as far to the right as the 2" ridge will allow. I do not think it would take much to cut the hole bigger and install one. I just got home from Florida and have not had a chance to clean the compartment yet, but I hope the photos help.

6 inch Twist Lock Hatch [VIK-PLT-6] - $23.00 : Toms TopKayaker Shop, Your Online Outfitter

I just found one on the INTERNET. It was done at Monaco Elkhart in "The Old Days", the service writer was telling me how there was nothing they could do about the problem, but as I inspected the days work, back in the campground, the Tech had fixed the problem. This means to me that the part was already in the stock bin! And, I had a Great Tech!

Had the same problem on mine and installed a bigger cover. Got it a local marine shop. Just used a jig saw to cut the plastic. Took about 30 to do the install.

Yup! Had our hole enlarged with new plate installed under warranty at Diamond Hill. A lot less involved than reconfiguring your plumbing. Boy, I wish they would reopen Harrisburg. I always had a great bunch of people working on our coach when the bugs were being worked out. walt

I tried a 90 degree connector but it was real tight even being able to twist the valves, I found a connector that was more like 120 degrees at Camper World and then I could move the head and hook up the head very easy. I started to use the dump and bypass the Santi-Com, I could never get it to empty the hose and always ended up dumping some waste on the pad and it took too long. Maybe something is wrong with my unit but dumping the other way sure is faster and no mess.

Well I am glad I am not the only one who is having the problem. I am searching for a rectangle type of hatch that has a cover. I have found them but they have hinges on them. I find it truly amazing that HR/Monaco let this set-up even go out the door.
