beaverjim.....Here is a thread on removing the arm....it maybe more difficult since yours is broken... RV.Net Open Roads Forum: Class A Motorhomes: re-moving arm rests (Flexsteel) (Read through the entire thread, there are several posts that talk about different aspects of the arm. You may have sheared an internal pin that is repairable.)

FYI...Since ours was new, I got in the habit of lifting that armrest up when the coach was parked and the seat was turned towad the driver's seat for easier entry. I found people used it as a push off point when walking up the steps.

don, thanks for the info! i guess i have more problems other the that as you will see. the arm rest has come off the shaft which remains in the seat back. tommorow i will attempt to remove it from the seat back and re install it in the arm then back into the seat (feel like a seat surgeon) then dw will have her arm back jim

Just as an option, if you are close to a Camping World, you might want to go over and look at a typical "Flexisteel" chair they have. Here in Tampa, they (CW) have a chair with a "cut-a-way view of the arm, springs, etc. You might get an idea of how the arm works and how it is atttached, to see what you are in for.
