The Air Seal on our entrance door has stopped working. I had a bad short of the DRL relay in the front run compartment and some wiring was burnt. That has all been replaced and everything else works just fine. I checked the air solenoid in the Gennie compartment and if I apply 12 volts it energizes. There is a board on the front run compartment that controls the door air seal. I examined the board and there was no damage from the shorted board. There are a lot of relays on that board as the door seal does not energize until the engine is running and the trannie is in drive. It might even have to be in second gear. I have 2 questions
1. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot that item? The relays are soldered to the board so you cannot remove them and test.
2. If no ideas I need to find a shop that can hanlde a complicated repair. Although we are in Mexico we will be in AZ this spring. Beaudry's had a good Monaco guy but they are history. I only know of 2 shops: Guaranty in Oregon or One 4 All in Elkhart. Both are out of my way. Calif. or AZ would be great.
Thanks

Double check on Beaudry's I think they may have reopened at some of there past locations under new ownership but with the old management and personnel.

Thanks Dave: I was there last Thursday and it was still very closed. Maybe that has changed. There are not many Monaco service centers in the Southwest. Actually not many anywhere!!

Alliance Coach | Home These are the guys operating the old Monaco Service Center in Wildwood. FL. Might be worth a shot, they picked up a lot of parts.

THanks Dave: Do you think they have something to do with CW ( Affinity Group)?? I need a good Monaco tech who is familiar with how Monaco does their wiring. There are lots of service centers with good techs ( maybe not lots but many!). However when you bring them something they have never worked on one ends up paying for their education. I did some troubleshooting this morning. The wire from the pc board in the front run has continuity right to the air solenoid . But the relay may not be working. The relay gets a signal from the neutral safety switch. That is where it gets complicated. Unfortunately most of the boards do not have removable relays. They are sub size Omrons and are soldered to the board. Monaco puts extra relays on the board and a good tech might be able to just feed the the spare relay. They even show the #'s(85,87,etc) for each terminal of the spare relay on the wiring diagram I am going to check with Monaco and see if they have that board in stock. We may just go to Oregon in the spring and have Guaranty do the work. If they need the board Monaco is around the corner (sort of). We had some work done there just when Monaco was going under. The tech was awesome. I am going to call the service writer this week. Thanks for the lead and do let us know how you make ut in Flagstaff. Bring warm clothes!!

They do not appear to be associated with CW, they also don't claim to be a Monaco authorized repair facility. I drive by them often on my way to Costco in Prescott they sell most types of RV and claim to have certified techs. As you say without a detailed knowledge of Monaco they may do a lot of hunting before finding the problem. I did see on line a facility in Phoenix that claims to be a Monaco Authorized Service Center but they are not listed when I look at the Monaco site so it may be for old Monaco. It is Massey's Diesel & RV here is a link. Massey's Diesel & R.V. Repair, Inc. - Phoenix, AZ - Services

Thanks Dave: Massey Diesel is a highly recommended diesel repair shop. Many Bluebird owners use this shop. I looked at Monaco's list of service centers and it is "lame". Some of the shops are more like a used car lot. Not much in the way of facilities. Until a few months ago they did not list any service centres or dealers in: ND., SD., MN.,NM and Arizona. They know show some but the one's I recognized are not equiped to do serious repairs. It is too bad that most of the Mega shops that were Monaco dealers have switched to other lines. We all know why.

Hope all is well with you....Jeff at All 4 One would definitely know what you need and be able to make it work. I know that you are literally on the other side of the world from him right now....Can the entire board be taken out and replaced somehow?....It might cost a bit more in parts, but be worth the savings if it is a plug out, plug in circuit board.

Hi Stuart: Yes Jeff is very capable. They did some minor work for me last year and I was pleased. I spoke with Guaranty this AM and they still have some Monaco techs. Would probably be easier for us to head there in the spring on the way to "The Great White North". The board is not supposed to be serviceable. The relays do not plug in as they soldered to the board. I still havent called Monaco to see if the board is in stock. It may not be the board could be wire on the neutral safety switch. The board is easily removed. 4 small screws and the wires all unplug with those white connectors. a 2 minute job.

Just curious, Moisheh, what might have caused your wiring damage? Anything for Dynasty owners to look out for??

I cannot tell you if this is a known problem. I had never heard of this happening but read about a Beaver owner with a board problem today. I dont know why this happened but both the tech at Monaco and the tech who helped me fix the mess felt it was the DRL relay that caused the problem. The heat was localized to the DRL board. It also controls some other items. None of the 12 volt feed wires to the front run bay were damaged or showed any signs of heat. The DRL relay was melted. Unfortunately there are a lot of things in that front run bay that are not fused. Looking at the wiring I would say that Monaco does a good job. The wire was high quality and only 2 wires were damaged. If thay had used cheap Chinese wire the whole MH would have gone up in flames. The boards are all Intellitec and they do not repair them. Some of the boards do not have any electronics other than relays and lights. Even the ones with soldered relays could be repaired but it might cost more than a new board.
