Dynasty entry door. Thank you Drifter

The entry door on my 2000 Dynasty has been giving me problems for quite a while now. Opening from the outside has been very tricky. I would open the latch with one hand and give the door a smack, with the other. This worked every time. Not very convenient when you're carrying something though. I did a search on here and around a thread that delt with this issue. A huge thanks goes out to Drifter for the info and pics he provided. I got the latches adjusted and timed, and the strikers are now operating properly. It took me a few hours to get it all working properly, but it sure will be nice to have a door you can open easily and with one hand.

I found what I needed from this thread. Post #26 had a great PDF attachment.

I had this problem on my '04 Diplomat and finally the latch handle broke from the excessive pressure. So it is best to go ahead and fix it before you get locked out! I documented my repair here:

Mine never got to the point of the outside handle breaking. But the upper and lower catches were what needed adjusting. I was able to do it without removing the entire inner door panel. I removed the inside latch cover, half of the window trim and the door edge cover. The interior door panel is very fragile and difficult to reinstall, so the less you have to deal with that, the better off you'll be.
