Dynasty Seat

2008 Dynasty passenger seat will not move back. It is stuck fully forward. All other functions work like tilt, up and down, and footrest. Looking underneath I see no damaged or loose wires. Connectors all are secure.

Anyone have any suggestions? It worked fine yesterday though I swiveled it around last night, then this morning won’t move backwards when in locked driving position.

I would take another look for a bad wire butt connector, you may have kinked or stretched a wire when turning seat. A volt meter would help confirm 12 volt power at slide motor.

If you have not yet pulled the seat out, and inspected it where you can see everything, I'd recommend that. Four bolts hold the seat to the base, along with a connector for the power to the seat.

Two things I can think of are the switch or something is jammed. My passenger seat managed to jam up wiring into one of the motors, and that led to some interesting problems.

Does it move back if you put your shoulder into it with the switch activated? If so lube it. If not you can test the switch with a meter. The switches are about $30

Flip the wires (fwd/back) if you now push forward and it moves back it's the switch.

My seat stopped going back because of corrosion. I could force it back while activating the switch. I ended up taking it out and getting a whole new base with all the motors. Tried to swap motors which was impossible. Ended up swapping the entire base and the footrest Motor. Had to have some welding done to add the shoulder belt supports that were not on the new base. The base was about $350. It now works perfectly including the footrest. Hopefully you can lube yours. I’d start out with wd40 to clean it and then try some high quality lubricant like Corrosion Block

I am mechanically inclined, but electricity is my weak subject. This is what I did and please feel free to critique.

I took my volt meter and checked for voltage at the motor. The motor that moves the seat back and forth is in front. I removed the two wires and checked for voltage. Nothing. Then I realized I had to trip the switch, for electricity to flow. Did that and got nothing on the meter.

Traced wires back to module. I knew power was present since tilt, raising, and footrest worked. I then checked the two wires going to the seat at the module. Power was present. So, I concluded something was wrong in those wires from module to motor. I stripped off electrical tape, but found nothing wrong. Concluding I would run new wires to see if that would work and planned to do that the next day. Put everything back together connecting up everything back up and calling it quits. BINGO it now works.

Could the wires have been pinched so tightly that electricity couldn’t flow?

It’s a connector inside you can’t see, I ended up redoing all mine with new.

Congrats on it working again, must have been a bad connection.

My pass seat would work then not work .
What I found was the plastic connector was not snapping together well .
It was due to the wires being slightly routed wrong so that they would
pull the connector apart .
I moved the wires just a bit to gain some slack then I put a small wire tie
around the plastic connector , no problem since

So if your problem returns check that the connector is holding together .

I suspect mine did the same.

Well...my passenger seat stopped working again. It will not move front to back, but all other functions work including the footrest, lumbar, tilt and raise and lower.

Using my multimeter, I confirmed power is present at the motor. I assume this means the motor is bad. I tapped on it with screw drive, to no avail. Here are pictures of the motor. Does anyone know where I can purchase it and how best to remove and replace it? Do I need to remove the seat from the floor?
