I've never had that problem, although I think I've had almost every other issue you can have.
The Vorad has a dedicated ground wire on the back held onto the Vorad case by a small nut. The wire is white and snakes back up under the dash somewhere. Maybe yours is loose or disconnected. The Vorad ECU is mounted onto the drivers side wall under the divers side switch console. You can access it either by removing the switch console cover, or the vertical side cover next to the drivers seat.

Another possibilty is you have something loose on the front sensor that is just in front of the generator. This is also an area subject to corrosion. Open up the generator slide out and check that cable carefully. I removed the wire connector on the front sensor and cleaned it and applied dielectric grease to it. It's a good idea to do this to all the sensor connectors.

Drop Rick Youngblood an email and ask if he has any ideas.

Just an update. I had some Vorad issues over the holidays and the system failed off. The big issue is when the Vorad system fails the cruise control does not work. Rick had mentioned there was a way to override this.
With Cruise Off, I was able to simultaneously depress the Cruise On and Set buttons on the smart wheel and have the cruise control function without smart cruise. This may take more than one try. Each time you must first cycle the Cruise Off and then try depressing Cruise On and Set simultaneously again. Usually by the third try it will work and continue to work until you cycle the key off.

Vito, that is good to know. Mine still works great. I would hate it if it stopped working. I use it all the time........

Safe travels

It seems like my VORAD problems and Smart Wheel problems went away after I had an electrical problem in the front run bay. I removed some of the boards in the FRB , cleaned the corrosion and re-soldered some joints which had corrosion. I was so impressed with the results I bought new boards and replaced the FRB boards with new last summer. I plan to clean and re-solder the old boards for spares.

There was another poster who reported similar results prior to my findings, I don't remember who.
