Awning fuses are sometimes on the circuit boards. You can find tech manuals for Carefree here Carefree of Colorado Product Technical Documentation

martiankat......On my 05, the indoor switch is in a cabinet above the entry door. To the left of that is a control box (about twice as thich as a deck of cards) in the cabinet over the dash. When you look in that cabinet the box is agianst the side wall. I haven't looked in awhile, but there may be a fuse in that box.

You also want to disconnect the outside cable from the motor home sidewall, make sure its clean and reinstall tightly.

thanks all for your advice. we found the original book from safari and finally found the right fuse. it didn't work but in retrying the outside switch with putting a little pressure over its cover the awning retracted. i'm guessing its wires might be corroded so we wiil probably call an rv tech to check it out. thank goodness the winds died down before we figured out how to retract the awning.
