electric toilet

just wondering because the DW asked me to. is there any way to quit the water guzzling electric toilet mostly when used in the middle of the night so it doesn't wake others.

Ours has a small switch in the back of the toilet that switches it from "full flush cycle" to "manual flush cycle", which only works as long or as short a time as you hold the flush button down. When we boondock we use that as you can just nudge the button to dump liquids. Makes less noise and uses quite a bit less water.

The noise is part of living in a motorhome with the toilet six feet from the bed. I fixed ours so that the water can be turned on/off when were are dry camping. With less water in it, it makes less noise.

Mine has a small toggle switch on the back side too that allows one to go from a heavy flush to more of a water saving flush. I use mine and when dry camping, saves a lot of water both in fresh tank and black tank.

Mine has two switches on the wall, Full flush and Low flush. I really do not like this thing, just something else to go wrong.

In the RV and at home, we have a few tower fans/heaters on at all times....

masks most noise and lessens the 'distractions' from inside AND out as I'm not a fisherman and that guy in the next site going out @ 5 am is a REAL distraction

Trust me, that toilet is a PITA and if something goes wrong, it is a PITA to fix...the plastic water piece broke and went down into the motor...had to disassemble entire toilet to get it out. (UGH!!!) ...I don't like the fact there is no manual over-ride to flush it in case of a problem...just the buttons..what if batteries are dead unexpectedly....?...also it has a fuse which you have to know where it is to replace it....last but not least, it uses way too much water..lucky to get 3 1/2 days out of it before red empty light comes on...and I can always tell when full means full as the water won't stay in toilet after flushing..that means it is blocking a vent which means...dump now...did not ask for this thing, but ended up with it so just dealing with it

If it has two buttons you can do a dry flush by pushing both buttons at the same time. Or use the left button to do a small flush.

Here is the operator manual for the two button Techma.
