I have a 2004 holiday rambler endeavor and would like to pull my horse trailer with it. Obviously i need to hook up an electric brake. We have located the wiring at the back of the unit but cant find the other end to hook up the brake box. Anyone know how to locate it? or if its even there?
Thanks, Linda

I have a 2005 neptune and cannot find the wireing up front. I have searched multiable times and cannot find any wires that look like they would be for the electric brakes. I think when the time comes I am going to have to run the wires from front to back unless I do figure it out. Sorry I couldnt help but in the time that I spent looking thus far I could have run the wires about 5 times already and been done with it. That might be sound advise right there.

I spent hours looking in my MH when I went to install my braking system. I checked behind the dash, center radio, removed the side panel next to the drivers seat and never could find the darn thing. Finally took off the black plastic shroud around the steering column and voila...There it was. Mine is a 6 position plastic connector with 4 wires. You might check there if all else fails. Good Luck.

At first sight, I thought we got lucky by having all four wires under the dash, but upon further inspection we found that the important red and blue wires were dead and of no use. The red wire comes from the cold side brake switch and tells the controller how much brake to apply. The blue wire sends the signal from the controller to the 7 pin trailer connection.
On my Diplomat, cold side brake switch wire originated from the rear passenger side taillight area. Monaco ran the wire from there about half way under the coach and the connection stopped. At this same point, Monoco ran the blue wire back to the 7 pin trailer connection.
Therefore, we had to tap into both of these wires and run them half way under the coach to the brake controller. I guess we didn't get as lucky as those of you that have the wires under the dash.

I JUST BOUGHT THIS CONTROLLER FOR MY COACH.I HAD NO WIRES AT THE REAR OR UNDER THE DASH. I STUDIED UP ON THEM AND REVIEWS WERE GREAT. IT ALSO CAN BE EASILY MOUNTED ON ANOTHER TRAILER AND USED.THIS WAS THE CHEAPEST PLACE TO ORDER ONE.

I had the same situation, needing to tow a trailer with electric brakes. The wires to the connector at the back of my 2007 Diplomat are for brake control of a towed car, not heavy enough to carry the power needed for electric trailer brakes. I had to have a cable (for brake power and ground) run from the brake controller to the rear connector to carry the higher power. There was a wire in the panel under the left side drivers control area (trans control, jack control, etc) to send the brake signal to the brake controller.

motiongrantd: That red wire does not "tell the controller how much brake to apply". That process is decided by the controller. The red wire is the" trigger" wire.

I have this same unit, works great. I switch it easily between tow vehicles. Plugs right into a lighter receptical and just sits on any surface, doesn't have to be level or mounted.
Good luck.

I haven't towed a trailer with brakes since we had a 5er. That wireless control sounds amazing. Running wires from the front to the rear on a MH is time consuming if you want to do it right. Dirty job as well. Isn't technology wonderful? AS well if you tow a taod and use a system like the US gear there is a diode that could interfere with your trailer wiring. Simple is better. I am waiting for a company to come up with a wirelss brake system for toads like the US Gear

Should the trailer brakes be activated when the engine brake is engaged but the brake pedal is not pushed? This is the way my dealer wired it up, and I'm wondering if it's correct.

Absolutely NOT !!!
You will burn through your trailer brakes and tires real quick if you leave it that way.
Take it back to the dealer and have them rewire it correctly.
The ONLY time you want the trailer brakes to activate is when you apply the service brakes.
On some coaches, like mine, the brake lights will activate both on the coach and the trailer when the PacBrake is on. That is OK as it's only the lights, not the wheel brakes.
