Electrical problem with 01 Monaco Diplomat 40ft
Greetings Irv2 members, and thank you all for giving me so many solutions in the past. This may be my first post, but it is certainly not the first time I have been snooping for answers here...
My motor home is a 40ft Monaco Diplomat 2001, with two slides.
Yesterday I pulled a little to much power on one of three outlets on my main slide. Now neither of the outlets work, and the microwave is down. I can't seem to find the breaker for these outlets. Back in the bedroom is the main panel, but no breaker is blown. All breakers have been turned off, and back on. Is there a second panel somewhere?
Is there anyone that has the electrical schema for this model?
Any help would be gratefully received!
Matthew

Check your GFI sockets in the bathroom/kitchen or were ever they are on your rig.

Matt, You will have 2 circuit breakers on your inverter/charger located in the rear passenger side compartment. These older gfi outlets located in the bathroom and under the dining table have been known to trip and you can't reset them. I would guess it is your breaker on the inverter though. Already checked the inverter. They looked good, I will check them again. As for the gfi outlets, I don't remember seeing one in my MH. Time to cross check every outlet tonight...

Thanks for the help on this!
Ok, rechecked the inverter. All is good there. As for gfi outlets, you are right. Both the bathroom and kitchen are down. How do I identify the one with the problem, and then what??? Just replace it? No reset grr.

Thanks for the help!
The outlets look normal with no reset option. Typical. How do I know which one is bad?

Matt, It is possible someone has replaced the gfi's that came with your Diplomat. On my Diplomat the bathroom gfi was for the bath sink, & the kitchen counter except for the micro wave. I have the wiring schematic for my 120 volt wiring but it is in the coach in storage now. I installed a new Magnum MS2012-20B inverter charger because I wanted to be able to use regular gfi's and some of these don't like a MSW inverter. You may have damaged your energy management system relays that are hidden behind your main 120 volt breaker panel or the 12 volt fuse panel in the bedroom. Start the generator up and see if all the LED's light up in the energy management display located where the front slide switch is. Are you plugged into 50 amp service? If you are you should have all the LED's lit up unless you have a problem with the main transfer switch. Good luck, George

Matthew, this may not have a direct bearing on your particular problem, but I humbly suggest that as you replace outlets in your coach, if they are the type where the wires are not fastened with screws, that may prove to be your problem. Many of the outlets on coaches are the type where the wire is forced into a slotted connection and depends on the sharp slotted connector to cut through the insulation and make contact with the wire.
Those outlets present two problems. One, the vibration in a motor home tends to cause the wires to loosen. Two, the connection is not robust, even when new, and is subject to early failure if the currents are large.

If the reset button is not on the outlet then it should be on the breakers!

Ok, status update based on all the great suggestions you all gave. The only place I have still to check for a gfi outlet is in the "basement". Yes it's full, and will require a sunny warm day... Please see below pictures to answer your questions, and to prove that I have been listening to your suggestions.
The voltage is not showing, but I am on 50 amp shore power. Sometimes when it gets below freezing the amperage does not show. All LEDS are lit though. This has always been like this and is something I will look into later.
All my outlets are like this Junk
So as you see I have work to do in replacing my outlets, and digging out the basement to look for that possible gfi. Thanks again gentlemen and keep the help coming!

Matt, Does your inverter/charger have 120 going to it. The 30 amp breaker in your 120 box feeds the inverter/charger. I can't tell from the picture of the inverter if the LED is lit up showing power to the inverter. If this 30 amp 120 line is not hot about 1/2 of your 120 outlets won't be hot. The 120 outlet in the basement is in the compartment in front of the propane compartment up high and on the left. Did you have the gen running when you took the picture of your energy management system? George
