Asked the same question about my rig , Cat 3126B, found out that , answer was, no . Traced the lines from the compressor, clyinder head, just to be sure, one went to the intake manifold, other to the air drier. So on my rig, for sure, air for the compressor, is filtered through the main engine filter.
If you don't get a good answer here, about your specific engine, try re-posting the question in , the Power Train Garage; Cummins Engines.

thanks Skip...I thought of this tonight after dark and wasn't going on a hunt after dark....I saw no reference to a filter anywhere in any booklet...I assumed there had to be a filter of some sort...and thought possibly the engine air filter...I will check in the daylight

It should be a Haldex Pure air plus and the kit is DQ 6026 kit and a expensive little bugger at $130+ with a Coalescing and Desiccant filters and you should find it on the passenger side up by the frame where the Allison attaches to the engine and if it is not unloading with a blast of air when the pressure hits 120 or 130 psi you more than likely have a ruptured coalescing filter and will have to replace the whole unit.

No filter on the intake and the Pure air plus should be changed about every couple yrs.

I just looked at mine.....the air compressor inlet is hard plumbed with steel tubing to the bottom of the intake manifold of the engine....so it draws in clean air via the engine air filter...indirectly
