Engine Compartment Insulation Repair

Have purchased a 2002 Monaco Diplomat and have one insulation panel loose in the rear engine compartment and need to reattach. Have searched forum and understand using a good heat resistant adhesive and further secured by fender washers and screws. Most repairs have been I believe reattaching the insulation additionally with screws and washers to metal. My unit has a fiberglass compartment on the wall facing the front of the coach. Seeking advice as to attachment from those who may have done this repair. Can I attach the screws to the fiberglass wall without undermining the fiberglass and creating stress cracks? Concerned with number of screws and road vibrations perhaps further cracking the fiberglass. Or is there another solution?

I had the same problem. I used pieces of the metal threshold strips, the come in various widths and have holes predrilled. I simply put the strips up and used short screws to attach to the RV, and yes it was through fiberglass in most places. I then used a good quality high heat tap to seal the seams, this type of tap is used in HVAC applications, pricey but it works. Haven't had a problem and it's been ~6 years since the fix.

Thank you both for good ideas. I guess my concern about putting numerous screws in the fiberglass are unfounded. Thanks again
