Engine oil and trans temp not working
Does any one know where the grounds are for the engine oil pressure gauge and the trans temperature gauge are. I hope it is that simple that they use the
same gauge as I lost both of the at the same time. The grounds under the dash
are fine. 98 Dynasty 36 foot 8.3 Cummins

Peter double check the ground bar and the ground wire from the gauges, we have always had a problem with the gauge grounds on our Monaco Coaches.

I am having a hard time finding the oil sensor. I though I had found it but it was the low
oil sensor and another one I don't know what it's for is not it. Anyone know where the sensor is.

I just fixed both the engine oil pressure gauge and trans temp gauge.
My engine had 2 oil pressure sensors, 1 for the engine ECU and 1 for the dash oil pressure gauge/light . The hardest part was finding it! My sending unit for the dash oil pressure gauge is on the passenger side just above the starter ( I have an ISX). The Monaco part was discontinued but I was able to cross it over to a VDO part by dropping the last 2 numbers. I was lucky as the RV shop techs first thought it was a ground and then were sure it was in the wire bundle.
The trans temp sensor is in one of the large hydraulic lines coming from the trans tailshaft (near the drive shaft). It is just a clip on connector in a turbulent area. I tried to crimp it slightly and also put 2 zip ties on it to keep it from flapping around.
Hope this helps!

If both quit at the same time I would bet it is ground problem and his engine should be the 8.3 before the ISC computer engine .

Thanks, I found the trans sensor and it was badly corroded and broke when I touched.
I soldered the wire to the sensor and will get a new sensor when find an Allison dealer.
I don't get the gauges working I'm safe

Hi Oldguy70; Glad you found the trans temp sender. It is not located in the best place, my opinion. Have you found the oil pressure sending unit yet? If not I think I might know where it is. I have an 01 Windsor with the ISC. If you look forward from the rear in the engine compartment on your left side there is a round unit with two wires, threaded into the block right below the turbo oil supply line. Not sure if this is what you found and I am not sure if it is the oil pressure sending unit. Will have to do some more research. Hope this info helps. Went to Visone RV salvage and looked at an ISC engine they have for sale. There is an unit screwed into the top of what looks like the oil cooler. I thought is was into the block. I am wrong! Still not sure if that round unit is the oil pressure sending unit.

I will look under the turbo when it quits raining. The pressure gauge for the low pressure
light is on the rear of the engine in a block with a blank sender for a rear gauge panel which is an option which I don't have.
