Entertainment Equipment Upgrades
Good Morning
In case anyone else is contemplating Entertainment Equipment Upgrades, here's what worked for us in our 2006 Camelot 40PAQ
I replaced the OEM Sharpe 32" c/w side speakers with a 39" Samsung (UN39FH5000) LED.
The heights are similar at 20.6", but the widths differed. The OEM Sharpe was actually wider in that it had side speakers, so there was ample room in the Coach's TV opening. I did have to construct a new Oak surround - see pictures attached.
I also replaced the OEM RCA VHS/CD player with a new BlueRay unit by Panasonic (SC-BTT190). This unit does not have a COAX connector, but I used its Digital Optical Connector to link with the TV's Audio output. This works well, to use the already installed 6 Ohm, surround sound speakers.
I had to cut off the old RCA speaker connectors, and replace/solder the new connectors that fit the Panasonic.
While at it, I also replaced the Dash Mounted Magnadyne radio with Pioneer's DEH-X6600BT. I ordered this from Crutchfield c/w a mounting kit for a 2006 series Ford cars/pickups. I modified this a bit, and enlarged the dash opening by approximately 1/4" in each direction. This unit works well; is more easily "managed" by remote control, and enables us to make/receive cell phone calls handsfree via the BlueTooth feature.
