Have you ever lubed the linkage inside of your entry door?
My door handle requires a little more effort than a car door and I hear a slight squeak, so it must need to be greased, etc. A sticker on the door says to consult manufacturer's instructions, but the owners manual doesn't cover it.
I could remove the screws on the outer edge, I guess and see if that will give me access. But, first, I thought I would ask you "experts."
How do you get to the inside of the door to lubricate the linkage?

Pogo,
Before you tackle the linkages inside the door, lube the strikers on the jam and the latches on the door with a Teflon lube. When my door starts requiring more effort to open, I lube it, and then it both opens and latches with a lot less effort.

The lube in the pictures below are all the same, with one a spray and the others a liquid. I don't know which is the current bottle, blue or black. The nice feature about this lube is that it is not oily and doesn't attract dirt, like WD40, etc. You can find it at Ace Hardware. I use it on anything that moves - hinges, drawer rollers, fridge door and the like.

Thanks, Harry and Sheryl. I will get some when I get to where there is an Ace. I bet that this will do the job. And, it probably will lube the folding steps, too.
