Entry Steps..not acceptable!!

How can this be???? I just got back from an RV show with various RV's. Some had entry steps that when you made the first step you would think the entire step assy would break and fall on the ground. I weigh about 170lbs. So..If some "big ol boy" 400lbs came along what would happen then.
To me these step assy's are a "cheap clap trap" waiting to fail and seriously injure some unsuspecting person.
From the marketing side, what a negitive first impression before you ever look at the product they are trying sell you.
As a mechanical engineer there are far better designs...yep! may cost a few more bucks to improve the steps, but not as much or as costly as few legal issues.
Just my two cents.
