On our '06 Dynasty, it does supply the propane at low pressure. Quite low, I think. Actually, for safety reasons, I would expect that to be the case on most all rigs produced in "modern times".
I removed the regulator from our Baby "Q" and found fittings to allow me to connect the hose directly into the flow valve on the grill. I'm not sure that I'm convinced that I get all of the heat that I should, but it does work for us. About 11 minutes is required for a medium cooked steak. I don't know how that compares to cooking with bottles and with the grill in the "as-built" configuration. It is pretty neat to not have to deal with propane bottles, any more, though.
