Everybody needs to take a "chill pill"... Monaco will most certainly make it right... . No seriously, I'm sure that everything will work out fine, the paint lines will match up and the slide will not fall out while driving down the road.....

JimM68, We do have a legal service as part of our retirement, but it is my opinion that if a attorney is necessary that both sides in some way have lost.
On the idea of making a mistake at the factory level is nuts. The most basic production planning would have stopped this type of error. Basic production starts with an order which establishes a order number, then based on availability of parts and production space a VIN number is set. From that point I can see something not put on but never added. Sounds like there just slotting orders with built product on hand.

Yes cb5300 is CORRECT. You are dealing with Navastar Monaco, and they do a GREAT job of pleasing the customer. I represent one of the SATISFIED customers. deSanford

I think you have another problem looming in the near future. From what I've read, production in Oregon will cease in April and be transferred to Indiana. Your motor home will be onme of the last to be made in the soon to be shutdown plant. Better to get your money back or have it placed on a new model produced in Indiana. That will be later in the year and produced as a 2013 model.

I don't understand why having it be one of the last produced in that plant would be a problem? Do they get stale at the end? Seriously, you didn't give a reason, I would need one.

Glad you are getting what you ordered and I hope you hold their feet to the fire to get your coach completed and delivered promptly; the mistake, thus the delay is not your fault after all.
Don't feel too sorry for them; I doubt it'll cost them a big "pile of money", that slide will just get installed in another Knight with the same floorplan that has the ext. TV option.

If you were getting laid off next week, would you have a great incentive to build a quality product?

Having been in manufacturing for most of my career and having shutdown facilities, it is difficult to keep all employees, management & line personnel focused on their jobs. Why do you think they screwed up you order in the first place?

This happened to our Georgetown last year. Georgetown just built us a new one no problem.

Maybe not a great incentive but I would hope that I would, as I was raised to "give a man an honest day's work for an honest day's pay" and I would expect a good reference for my next job.

Undoubtedly you were raised in a different time with different values as was I. Even if they worked hard to the bitter end (which I doubt), they would probably have problems finding all the right parts from that diminishing bin. I would have taken the coach as offered or canceled and waited about 6 months for the changeover to have the bugs worked out. Just me and my never on Monday or Friday philosophy; and never, ever, send your food back to the kitchen. Irregardless, good luck on the OP's new coach!

Well I'd sure like to think that in this economy that the workers will want to do a good job till the end, a good reference is important in todays job market.
As for parts, with modern manufacturing and computers I;ll bet they have enough parts and will ship what's left over to Indiana.

Well I was feeling good about getting the coach we ordered but these comments now have me worried. How likely is it we can get out of buying this unit?

I wouldn't worry. Navistar is the future of Monaco and they will still be maintaining a service center in Coburg and they still build towables in Oregon.
As an Oregonian, I am saddened that the jobs are moving to a different state, but glad at the company lives on with US workers.
