I'm trying to help a friend of mine who is the owner of a 2004 Monaco Beaver motorhome. My friend has a Sharp television: LC-30HD4u. The issue is this: When the television is turned on the power light turns green for a couple of seconds, and then reverts to four blinks. The four red blinks recur at regular intervals. The television does not turn on. Our assessment is that the four blinks represent a code message of some type. But we are at a loss as to what these four red blinks indicate about the television or any other components related to the television operation. Any help from the Monaco Owner's forum would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

This reminds me of about a hundred business trips I have been on. I recommend that you call the Front Desk and have them send someone up.

Or call 1-800-BE-SHARP for tech support.

Can't find the model that you are mentioning and it's not listed on Sharp's web pages. Closest model is LC-30HV4U.

The manual for this Sharp TV does not mention anything about any code messages.

Best bet: Call Sharp on 1-800-BE-SHARP (237-4277) and speak to customer service.

I had that same thing happen and it turned out to be the motherboard was blown. If it were a newer TV I would suggest replacing the motherboard after testing to make sure. (It's possible it is only the power supply switch). If it is the motherboard, replace it.......

I have seen a Few Sharp portable TV's with the same problem of blinking red lights. I do not know what that means if there is a meaning other then a power problem. One thing to consider is that your talking a TV in a 2004 rig which makes the TV a 2003 or later, since they buy them in bulk it could even be older then 2003. That means it is not a digital TV and being that old getting the part might not be real cheap. I would consider just buying a new digital TV of the same size. February of next year is the dreaded deadline for analog TV signals to go away to protest the emergency frequency's and air traffic control. With a new TV he wont need the adapter for that TV. But by all means tell him to be sure it is digital. not every TV out there is digital because the older ones are still around. All newly made TVs must be digital, but if they were made before the dead line they can still sell them. That's why they are much cheaper in some cases.

Good Luck
