Finally happened....
I have read with interest the threads on the "salesman switch solenoid".
Never had a problem with mine.....
So today as I was servicing my batteries, I turned off the main battery disconnect switch in the battery compartment and after checking the batteries I turned the switch back on and.......no power inside coach.
I checked the solenoid in the rear curbside electrical compartment and it was "HOT" and not letting power through. So as others have done, I bypassed the solenoid by moving the two heavy wires together on one side of the solenoid and removed the small purple wire and taped it up. Power now on inside coach.
However, there are 2 solenoids side by side in this compartment and they are both affected by the switch in the cabin. Both controlled by the purple wire.
Normal operation of the switch in the "on" position, the one solenoid which I bypassed has power going right through in normal operation.
The other solenoid is energized but no power going through.
When the cabin switch is pushed to turn off the cabin 12v system, the second solenoid now has power going through.
Can anyone tell me what the second solenoid is for and what kind of conflict might I have if the cabin switch is activated while the one solenoid is bypassed?
