This afternoon I picked up my Monaco at the repair shop, drove it out to the storage yard and parked it again. Everything works for the first time since we took delivery of it brand new in December of 2009. It had the usual first year problems, aggravated by the fact that we are about 800 miles from our selling dealer so warranty items were more difficult to resolve. My selling dealer, Westgate RV of Kelowna, BC is owned by Mr. Art Pike, a gentleman and a fine fellow to deal with. That helped a lot.

So now we're hoping that our beautiful coach will be less problematic from here on, and I am sure it will be. And, thanks to this forum, we know of some things to watch out for.

Monaco upgraded our rear suspension beams, replaced the step control, macerator pump, a sensor on the exhaust (Cummins), leaking anti-freeze overflow tank, digital odometer and a couple of switches- all on warranty. I added a wind sensor to the awning and just replaced the seal on the LF slide (rusted clips).

Now I'm thinking of a Source REK next time I'm through Calgary? And I'll be watching the slide-out/leveler pump for leaks. So far, so good.

Life is good! Great to be among you...

Thanks, but it's actually scary to know how many things could be problematic! They are complicated machines, however, so it's good to have this heads up.

We plan on using it a bunch. We have out big old character home listed, and a small river view condo conditionally purchased. When we are moved the plan is to spend May through September on our Bayliner 3258 yacht on Lake Diefenbaker, SK; Jan-April in our motor home somewhere warmer than here. We'll also do some summer touring in the motor home, mostly involving Cosmopolitan International conventions (Kansas City this year).

Hopefully we'll meet some of you along the way!
