OK, here's a Winter Puzzle for Montaco Owners... A Winter Puzzle is something to do for us poor working schmucks who live in the north and are currently suffering from PMS (parked motorhome syndrome) )

Ever wonder about those cryptic floor plan names... PDQ, SKQ, SFT, PEQ, etc.?

I ran across this old Tech Tip that was published about 4 years ago, and gave some insight into how Monaco names their floor plans on the raised rail coaches. You don't see those floor plans anymore, so I got to wondering what the floor plan names mean today. Here are some guesses...

SFT - Single Bath, Full Slide, Triple
SKQ - Single Bath, Kitchen Front, Quad
PET - Private Bath, Extended Kitchen, Triple
PAQ - Private Bath, Atrium, Quad
PLQ - Private Bath, Lounge, Quad

That's enough guesses. But there's also DFT, DSQ, PDQ, PRQ, SKT, PEQ, KFQ, and more... I've got more guesses, (but I cannot figure out the S in the Camelot's DSQ)

Anyone care to take some guesses on the others, or call my bluff on the one's I've named?

Bill, If I weren't a "poor working schmuck" I'd take you up on that invitation.

I have a SBT, I believe that means Side Bath Three Slides. Anyone have a better guess?

abray,

Sounds good to me. All the floor plans that begin with "S" have the side bath all together in one room (SBT, SFT, SKQ, etc.) All the ones that start with "P" have the toilet in a room by itself, or with a sink (which is what Monaco used to call a "Private Bath"). So I'm thinking "S" means "single bath" (as opposed to double), or maybe "side bath" as you suggested.

We have the 40 "PAQ", and I'm told that stands for Pleasing And Quite fun!

We have a SKQ which the Monaco rep said was "Side Kitchen Quad". But on further thought on my behalf, (dangerous trend) they all have a side kitchen!
MM bail us out of this dilemma please!

We have the SKT....I'm not sure if the "S" means single bath or side aisle. Ours is a mid kitchen, but the "T" works for triple slide.

I always was told an S meant side aisle, but then some do not have the side aisle. Go figure.

The only thing I've found as a common link is the last character:
S - Single & Single full wall slide
D - Double slide (includes full wall slide when double)
T - Triple slide
Q - Quad (4) slides

Still working on the first two characters.

Corkey,

You're correct about the last digit. It always stands for number of slides.. Single, Double, Triple, or Quad. (S D T, or Q)

According to older floorplan codes, the first letter usually, but not always, described the bath configuration. Near as I can figure out, it now would go like this...

P - Private Bath (they mean "private toilet")
D - Double Bath (or bath and a half)
S - Single Bath (everything in one room like the SFT and SKQ)

The middle letter could mean almost anything. Here are my guesses....

A - Atrium
F - Full wall slide
R - Rear facing bed???
K - Kitchen in front
E - Extended kitchen (L-shaped)
L - Lounge area in rear
D - (Not sure, but all these do have a diagonal kitchen sink ???)
S - (as in DSQ) I have no idea.

So, Mbl Cndo, while your PAQ might be "pleasing and quite fun", it also has a Private toilet, an Atrium, and Quad slides. Right?

Can anyone think of examples that do not fit the above guesses? I'm still stuck on "D" and "S" for middle letters.

Don,

The "K" in your floorplan name wouldn't fit my "front kitchen" guess, but I'll bet it does have something to do with the kitchen. Far as I've seen, all the recent models that start with "S" do have the bath all in one single room, with the side hallway.

Okay I'm (sort of) with you, but.

1) The 40PLQ has a front living area, not a front kitchen.
2) I have a 37PCT, any guess about the 'C',?
3) My 37PCT is the same floor plan as the 40PLQ, but with 3 slides.

Ah the power of a puzzle, ....
