Sun Coast Designers is in the business of repairing fogged windows. Thus far I have not read any report of bad or lacking service from this company. They are located at 15050 Labor Place, Hudson, FL 34667, and the phone is 727-868-2773.

I made an appointment to have the driver’s side window repaired during a recent trip to Florida. That particular window seems to be problematic in Monaco built coaches. It has two fixed windows and one slider. The large fixed part next to the slider was badly fogged on my coach.

I arrived on the appointed day at 10 AM and was pleasantly surprised to find they had 16 RV parking spots, all with 50-amp and water service. There is no dump site. All the RV parking was on recycled concrete and more than sufficient to support the weight of a coach with the jacks down. If you go there for service, be sure and make an appointment. The day I was there they had 14 of the 16 RV parking spots filled.

Shortly after my arrival, two workmen started removing the window. The frame inside is left in place while the window and its frame are removed. A large cardboard piece is taped over the window opening to keep wind and bugs out and air conditioning in.

The entire window was then disassembled in their shop. All the glass was inspected and cleaned. If a glass is etched too badly to clean, a new one must be installed. One of mine was such a glass and the new one cost $35 which I felt was more than fair.

The glass is reassembled with all new gasket separators, re-gassed, and reinstalled in the frame. The window is then installed and caulked all around the frame. The lock is glued to the frame and instructions were to not open the window for at least 24 hours. There was also a piece of paper tape on the inside frame that was not to be removed for 24 hours.

As previously stated we arrived at 10 AM and were back on the road at 2:30 PM. The total cost, including the new piece of glass I needed, and tax was $267.50. I was also told to stay there overnight if I wished. They do not charge for parking, power or water.

I must say that everyone at Sun Coast Designers was extremely nice, friendly and well qualified at their job. They provide a much needed service at a great price, all with a smile. We were told their primary objective was for us to be totally satisfied with their service.

That sounds great Rex and I will make a mental note. I am sure it is only a matter of time before we may need their services.

One correction, They now do have a place to dump. As you enter the parking lot they added 4 sites on the right and the connection to dump is in front of slot 3 at the driveway edge. We were there 27-28 30 Jan 2010. We had 6 windows done on our 96 HR. Cost 250 for drivers window and 200 per additional window. If your glass is fogged (white) you may need new glass (aprox 35 per pc. 70 per window pane)) Our 6 and two new panes was 1200

Hey, great news about the dump. That is the spot where I parked on Jan 22. Saw them working on something but didn't ask what it was.

Rex, They had just completed it when I arrived. The only (non) issue I had is (was) that the windows were very hard to operate (slide) You can't use any petroleum products or it will void the warranty and silicone has petroleum so I had to find spray graphiite which I shielded and shot the edge of the rubber molding, What a difference. Mine being a 96 HR the molding is pretty dried out.

HR the rubber seals dry

Does anybody know of a window repair facility on the "left coast", (west), or at least a little west of Florida?

For those Rv'ers that are or will be near Tampa, FL, Lazy Days RV Dealer repairs fogged windows also. I had 5 windows done on my '05 Providence with no cost to me, because they were paid for by my extended warranty insurance.

Here's a recommendation for Dave Root. Posted just a few hours ago.
