Front door panel removal
How do you remove the main panel on the front door of 06 Monterey? Got the little panel off but I need to get to the bottom outside handle

Hi Steve; Using the search box at the top right of this page to ask, how to adjust the door linkage and strikers on a 2006 Beaver Monterey or another year of a Monaco coach door designed like yours. Owners have posted photos and drawings on door adjustment as well as removing the inside panel.

I found that it was necessary to remove the inner window trim and then one could carefully spring the panel and get it out. You need to remove The deadbolt and all the attachments to the panel as well. I used blue painters tape on the outside of the window generously and it stayed in place while replacing the door handle. Others have removed one or more of the edge pieces around the door to remove the panel, but that will disrupt the paint so I chose not to do that. Reinstalling the panel is at least a 3 handed and probably 4 handed job. You have to be able to bow the panel a little while getting the edges into the slot. It can be a challenge but I have done it twice. I would encourage you to do the search because as said, there are posts with pictures and everything you must go through to change that handle. Hope this may help. Happy Trails Bert

Glad I saw this again. Had to print it! I did this process a few years ago and my door works flawlessly

I couldn't agree more. I have been down the reinstall the inner door panel road a couple of times and I have to agree.. reinstalling that inner panel It's like trying to stick a limp noodle up wild cats.....
The first time doing so, I sat back and took a long look after fighting with it for about 1/2 hour and said what am I missing ...... as you stated I think the trick is having 4 hands
The easy job is the door latch adjustments
Happy Trails

door adjustment
Just finished adjusting my door linkage today on 2006 Monaco Diplomat. Follow the link above and you will have no problem. Works perfect. I only had to loosen the primary door panel not remove it. Me alone it took about one hour.
Good Luck

If your doing adjustments, you may get those done without removing the door panel. On mine, I had to replace the outside door handle and you have to remove the panel to get to that, at least partially, with is just as bad. Hope this may help. Happy Trails Bert
