I have a 2004 Monarch that we just purchased. The prior owner said that the hood would not stay open; it needs to be propped up. I had a service center check it out and they said that on other Monarchs, the friction of the 2 hinges hold it open, but mine has a nylon bushing added that increases the gap between the parts. Has anyone out there have a similar RV and could they post a picture of the hinges? I'm stumped on how this is supposed to work.

Thanks!

Steg

I can't help much with your problem....maybe hold an anvil behind one of the pivots and peen it with a hammer to tighten it up....but it must have been an issue as we just bought an 05 Simba (basically the same rig, different badging) and the hood opens DOWN. (my previous rig opened UP and wanted to fall and chop your head off as well)
