The only time I use any additive is before I store the Motorhome for the winter. I add the amount in the directions for my fuel capacity (full tank) and run the main engine and the Genset for 20 minutes. That being said, I would also use additive if I suspected there was water in my fuel. I use "Power Service" in the white bottle with the red cap.

I use the silver bottle of Power Service every other tank. 1 quart treats 100 gallons. I add the complete bottle.

I use Opti-Lube, you can read about it here Opti-Lube Advanced Lubricants . There was a prior thread on this Diesel Additives...... Should I? and it got a little heated.
It's a personal choice.....just like some take a vitamin every morning, some don't.

Lucas products were recently tested and found to give ZERO benefits to anyone other than the owners of the company. Snake Oil.

I would appreciate it if someone would point me to an article, originated by Caterpillar, Cummins or Detroit Diesel, that recommends using any kind of additive to the engine lubricating oil.

Pri-D only after coming back from a trip, a full tank of fuel and storage for at least 2 months. None when on the road or consistent use.

Our rig goes into storage for extended periods of time so last time I filled it up completely after adding Sta-bil diesel stabilizer in the hope that it would keep my fuel fresh. Also did this for the toad which also goes into storage.
We don't add anything when the vehicles are in use.

Hi Pairajays,
What is the point of your post?
In any industry is there a manufacturer that recommends an aftermarket product for what they make? Does that mean after market products do not work? Aftermarket products are for owners who find themselves in unique situations where an aftermarket product would be of benefit.
The product I use is Stanadyne Performance formula. And yes it does work as advertised (on my coach).

I used this one, too, in my Duramax. One of the things I like about it is that it is a demulsifier, so that water is easily trapped in the filters.

There was a discussion on one of the Australian forums about adding 2 stroke oil to deisel fuel. I put about 200ml to 120 lites of fuel(sorry you will have to dig out your own calculators) not the synthetic 2 stroke oil either. engine noticeably quieter, a little more economical, some declare more power. Cost of the oil is not balanced out by economy gain, BUT the less noise is worth it
