Fuel Sender Issue 2003 Monaco Diplomat

Having trouble with fuel guage continuously reading full. Found sender unit, visual inspection looked good with all four wires connected to centroid sender. With ignition key on (motor not running) read neg to pos terminals got (neg.20) vdc. I should be reading around +12vdc as I understand it. Question is should I? Should motor be running? Is there a fuse in the positive connection wire somewhere? While I am waiting hopefully for some suggestions I plan to (1)remove/clean and reconnect all four wires, (2) remove positive wire and read positive wire to ground (neg) with ignition on (no engine running). Meter black wire on neg and red wire on pos to answer expected first question.

Problem solved! Once I removed some undercoating on top of the sender and actually saw the terminal arrangement with regards to the old adjustment screws I was able to get to the right connections and after cleaning and tighting of the screws all is well.

one note is that there are two wires on the sender connection and the rest has just one. Not sure where the extra wire goes?

Been quite awhile since I had to replace my sender. I can't remember for sure, but I am thinking the extra wire made the connection for the "low fuel" warning.

I have a bad sender on my 2009 Monaco Cayman but can't see how to access it! Any clues?

On my 07 Neptune you can access it through the diesel fuel tank access on the driver's side. It's pretty tight but it's doable through there. If you don't have enough room you could cut a porthole through the storage compartment just behind the tank. There would be plenty of room there, at least mine would. Save the cutout piece to use to patch back and seal the hole back up once changed out.
