It's clear that some of you have REALLY researched the FMCA/Michelin deal....so I'm asking for your advice:
My '04 Dip has G670 275-70R/22.5 load range H tires. What model does this best translate to in the Michelin brand?

Michelin makes a tire just for RVs -> XRV
Michelin Americas Truck Tires XRV® Page
There are other Michelin tires for RVs. Goodyear G670 are good too.
RV tires are designed with the RV in mind. Sitting log times, etc. The sidewalls are made with special lubricants in them to lubricate the sidewalls when rolling. Commercial truck tires are built with mileage in mind while RV tires are more designed with time in mind. Different application, different tires.

Yes, XRV are tires formulated for RVs but I sure do like my X Coach tires on our coach as they ride great and are very quiet compared to the original Goodyear Marathons that came on the coach.

My previous scans of the Michelin XRV product line (unless I missed it) showed that Michelin didn't have a direct replacement for my 275 (70Rs).
One example of "other things" to consider, it seems, is the "tread patch" (rubber width that touches the ground). Seems that the tread patch for one tire might be "X" where another might be a significantly less of a value "Y".....even tho they both have the "275" width DOT specification.
So I'm asking for more than a reference to a web page. I'm looking for advice as to what exactly (in the Michelin product line) I should purchase....if I choose to leave the Goodyear brand.

I just visited a Michelin tire dealer today. I am getting rid of the junk Goodyears on my Diplomat. They suggested the XZA3+........... Lots of money but I talked them in to $75 each trade in on the junk. They have lots of tread left (along with lots of "rivering) but they will resell them for use on trailers. I also hope to get some sort of discount thru the FMCA relationship but no idea how much that might be.
There is another problem looming. Seems some tires are very scarace and going up in price. He had plenty of Good Years in stock.......NO THANKS.......but was backordered on BFG and a few others.

Thanks to all...and especially "thanks" for the content of the thread that I just found:
New Tire Questions
I now know about Continental, Firestone, Hancock and others having my 275/70R size. I was too hung-up on the GY 670 being "designed" for RVs.....when in real life, a truck tire is just a truck tire.....Michelin tires included.

RV tires do not have any special lubricants. They may be resistant to sidwall cracking. In the case of G670 they are not designed for anything other than to wear out quickly. No RV'r should run the G670. The XRV are also not the best choice. Michelin makes some excellent tires that will work with RV's: The Xcoach, and the XZ series. Many use the XZ energy .
