Smile Generator compartment will not close

We have a 2002 Monaco executive series with a built in onan generator. We opened it to check fluids today and not the compartment will not close. Has anyone had this problem and if so, how did you fix it?

Generator wonít go in

I have an Ď01 dynasty that was surging. After I added about a gallon of oil to the pump res. It worked fine. My pump & reservoir are behind the step. Itís kind of a pain to add oil to, but it works fine now. Not sure why it was that low. Didnít find any leaks anywhere??

If itís hydraulic it should have two solenoids near the pump. One for extension the other retracts. Check for power at the solenoids. The switch provides power to pump and the appropriate solenoid. Maybe a defective switch.

Here's a thread I started regarding the same problem only mine wouldn't open.
It's still the same problem and likely solution. Read over it jacwjames had the right solution for mine.

Help with generator slide

I draw out the hydraulic fluid every 4 to 5 years and inspect for moisture
And crud.
Then refill with fresh hydraulic fluid.
Doesnt hurt.
I dont remember but it doesnt take much fluid.

You dont want the fluid contaminated especially with moisture.

And the pump and reservoir is rite down close to all the road grime.

Yes
Keep those slides lubricated and clean also as suggested above.
