As far as the generator-fuel question, it's been batted about a lot recently (see related posts in this forum). There is a diptube for the generator into the fuel-tank that is separate from the engine diptube, and it is shorter so it runs dry first. Several of us have taken it upon ourselves to replace the original short gen-tube with a longer one. The main concern with a longer gen-tube is that if one is dry-camping/etc, it is possible to draw the fuel-level down to the point that there may not be enough fuel left for the engine to get to a service-station.
Actual fuel-level for a stock tube seems to be almost a toss-up, my genset quit right at 1/2 tank while others get almost to 1/4 before it quits.
HTH,
Ron
