We have an 07 Camelot and the Generator will not start. It goes through the pre heat cycle and thats it. It flashes a trouble code that states that battery voltage is low. Batteries are at 14 v. However when I start the coach to build more voltage my alternator light is on. Looking at the wiring diagram I think I either have a bad fuse in the alt wiring or a bad connection at the batteries or possibly a relay. I any ideas or has anyone delt with this????

Most obvious problem would probably be a loose or badly corroded wire somewhere in the primary 12V chassis system. I'd check all the wires on the alternator, the battery compartment, and the genset starter. Could be either a 12v+ cable or a ground cable.

We have an 07 Diplomat. Starting the generator problems always seem to be solved by holding the Generator Stop button down for about 60 seconds to prime the genset. I don't know if it is air in the lines or what, but priming it seems to solve the problem. If it does not start the first time, prime it again.

It preheats but does not even try an crank. Does it use the house or chasis batteries?

zman....Just for the heck of it, did you try and start it from the generator instead of the interior switch? I've had a couple of starting issues that were solved by starting it directly.

Yes.. I tried it from both places in the coach as well as on the generator. I have looked at the wiring diagrams and suspect I have a bad connection that is causing both the generator not starting as well as my alternator light. Somehow they are connected. I started the coach a couple of weeks ago and it was fine. From sitting I think a connection went bad. I just have to find it.

zman....Just throwing out ideas, but my next spot to check would be the battery compartment and one of the solenoids or relays. The solenoids can be jumped with battery jumper cables or a heavy wire and the relays can get a light tap with the end of a screwdriver or hammer.
