Our Onan 10,000 will not start with any of the three switches (2 inside and 1 on generator). Nothing happens when the switches are pressed. I had the panel off to add oil and may have gotten something wet when washing the coach. Any suggestions as to where I might check. I can't find where the starting electric enters the generator to check for a loose connection. Thanks in advance.

Had the same problem with my 10,000 KW. Problem was a loose ground wire cable from generator to frame. Sliding the gen in and out put tension on the cable and eventually broke the connection. Put new (longer) cable on and moved the frame mounting location closer to the front of the coach. Works great now!

Bench,

On our 8000 and most likely on your 10000 the battery cables and ground are connected at the rear of the generator. You will need to slide the generator all the way out and crawl under the coach. Look at the rear for cable connections. Be sure to turn off the battery disconnect before working on the cables.

I found my problem. A circuit (control) board on the top portion of the generator had water on it. It apparently got wet when I hosed off and washed the windshield with the generator compartment partially open. Im probably the only one out there to be stupid enough to do something like tat but be forewarned. Thanks as always for the suggestions and help.

Reminds me of when I washed the engine on one of our cars. Not long after that we started having transmission trouble. Took it to the shop and it was not the transmission but a bad connection on the cable that went down to the transmission. It got wet when I washed the engine and corroded.
